Predetermination - "fate"

What is the consequence of predetermination? That we run along a groove of time, like the needle on a vinyl disc. The needle has some bilateral choice, but its overall direction is predetermined; and it cannot, like the moving finger of Omar Kiam, retrace its steps. Our own record is largely set, and is a consequence of the act of Creation.

Whether it is better or not to realise this is another matter. However, once this is accepted, one need not blame oneself unduly - so long as you know that you have done your best.

Fate is not an excuse for inactivity. And if it were generally accepted so, the rat-race would cease - rats do not understand predestiny. The ultimate conclusion is that we all have to get on with each other; the alternative is unthinkable, because we would sooner not imagine it.
